God uses everything in our life. All of our life story is included in His good plan for us. He uses even the pain, hurt and let downs as well as the joys and celebrations. He uses every part, every experience and circumstance for our good. He also gives us our traits, talents, wisdom and knowledge, and personality. He created us individually for a good purpose.
He placed us in time where we are at and when we exist as well as how long we live and all the in between. He knows us fully and knows all things. He is in full control and is motivated by His love for us.
He knows what is ahead and all that has happened. He knows our feelings and thoughts. He understands us. He feels our joy and sorrow. He orchestrates it all for our good. Even the bad parts He will use for good if we let Him.
He is sovereign over all and we can trust His goodness.
Psalms 34:8-10
Taste and see that the LORD is good.
How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him.
Fear the LORD, you chosen people of his,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry,
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Psalms 34:17-18
The godly cry out and the LORD hears;
he saves them from all their troubles.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted;
he delivers those who are discouraged.
Psalms 145:18-19
The LORD is near all who cry out to him,
all who cry out to him sincerely.
He satisfies the desire of his loyal followers;
he hears their cry for help and delivers them.
Life Cycle

Our life and days are part of God’s plan for us. He plans our days and directs our steps. He is sovereign over all our life. Every detail and moment is in His hands. (Psalm 139:16, Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 20:24)
Birth
We are born at a time and place God chooses and given a purpose by Him. We are made by Him and for Him. He gives us life and breath and makes every part of us for a good reason.
Childhood
Our childhood shapes us. Our environment and experiences as children affect us for good or bad into our adulthood. Our personalities are formed and molded in childhood. God sees and understands it all. He uses it all for our good and His good purpose for our lives .
Adolescent & Young Adulthood
Impressionable in between years. We grow and learn about ourselves. We experiment with stretching our wings in the world. We ask questions and seek answers to life. God has the answers. He gave us His Word to guide us to truth.
Adulthood
We mature and become full grown adults. We learn and grow through all the ups and downs of life and everything we experience. Hope and brokenness, love and rejection, joy and sorrow wind their way through our lives. God is there through it all if we reach out. He will comfort, lift up, encourage, teach, strengthen and love us.
Senior
A time for reflection and hope. We may have raised a family and now enjoy new generations or we may have lived a good quiet life. Knowledge and wisdom along with grace and peace should be the gain of life with God. A close walk with Him will open more opportunities and possibilities than we can imagine.
End of Life
When we come to the end we can know what is ahead if we are His. We can confidently trust in Jesus our savior to bring us safely home to Him. Do you have that hope?
1 Corinthians 2:9
But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.”
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait for the LORD’s help find renewed strength;
they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings,
they run without growing weary,
they walk without getting tired.
Psalms 68:19
The Lord deserves praise.
Day after day he carries our burden,
the God who delivers us.
Life & all it’s Complexities

Life can be a roller coaster and take us places we never imagined whether high or low or in between. Through it all we can trust God and His goodness. We can find strength and shelter in His Word and His presence in our lives. Through His Spirit and prayer we find hope, contentment, joy and peace. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Highs
Things are great on the mountaintops of life. We really feel light, relaxed, hopeful and joyful when things go smoothly. When everything seems right we can draw closer to God or we can forget God. We have a choice to make continually. We can be thankful, grateful and blessed with praise to God or we can become self centered and self sufficient in our thinking and turn away from God.
Lows
When we are down and trudging through the struggles in life, we also have a choice to make. We can blame God or ourselves and just see the bad things or we can look up to our helper and remember Him. He can help us through and to see the blessings in disguise around us.
Grief
It’s a part of life even though we wish it weren’t. Grief can overwhelm us and catch us off guard. It comes in waves sometimes and it is a process we must go through. Christ experienced deep soul crushing grief before He was arrested and crucified. He understands.
Hope
In every dark place we look for hope. It rises up and fills us when we find it. We hope for better days and long for a better future. God promises hope and a future to all who believe in Him. His plans are for good not harm. Trust Him and find hope.
Hurt
Pain in life is unavoidable. Physical and emotional hurt will happen and sometimes it can feel unbearable. It can be continuous or come in parts and seasons of life. There is one who feels it too. God sympathizes with us and reaches down to us. He can be our rock. He can be our healer.
Joy
Happiness and joy fill our hearts. We rejoice and are glad. Joy brings us hope and raises us up. We are to rejoice with those who rejoice. It brings fellowship and community when we rejoice with others. We can be glad for them and with a thankful heart praise God. God rejoices too. God rejoices with us and over us. God is glad to bring us joy.
Memories
They are precious. As we get older we can remember back. Memories bring joy and hope. They remind us of God’s goodness to us, His blessings and help through the years. They help us trust Him and believe when going through times of trouble. God gave us the gift of memory.
Opposition
Pushback in life can be hard. Obstacles and setbacks seem to derail things. Rejection and hopelessness can be all we can see at times. It creates a fog around us that is hard to see the light through, but God’s light is there. His plans for you are never derailed or off track. His plans can never be thwarted. Hold tight to God and seek His guidance and believe in His plans and goodness for you. Trust His ways. His blessings and hope are even found in the opposition.
Dreams
Our capacity to dream is a gift from God. We can see beyond our present circumstances and hold out hope for better things to come. God gives us dreams that are not our own as well. They are put in our hearts by Him. He gives us glimpses of His plan and purpose for us.
Love
Does God Love You?God has also given us love. Love between family, friends and spouses. Love of others and sharing in that love with others through fellowship, worship and connection. God loves us deeply and we are to love Him wholeheartedly. He gave His life for us and we as His children are called His bride. The church is Christ’s body on earth and is loved by God. Husband’s are to love their wives as Christ loves them and gave His life in love for the body of Christ, His bride. God is love. He commanded us to love each other as He loves us.
Psalms Psalm 121-2
A song of ascents.
I look up toward the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Creator of heaven and earth.
Mark 14:34
He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Remain here and stay alert.”
Psalms 116:5
The LORD is merciful and fair;
our God is compassionate.
Psalms 18:31
Indeed, who is God besides the LORD?
Who is a protector besides our God?
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!
Zephaniah 3:17
The LORD your God is in your midst;
he is a warrior who can deliver.
He takes great delight in you;
he renews you by his love;
he shouts for joy over you.”
John 13:34-35
“I give you a new commandment—to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples—if you have love for one another.”
Matthew 22:37
Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
God In & Throughout Our Life

In everything in life God is there. He is watching and sees it all. He cares about it all. He is moved by it all. He can be trusted through it all. He reaches out to us and we can find Him when we look for Him.
He offers guidance, direction, peace, hope, love, encouragement, an ear to listen, comfort and compassion, mercy and grace and much more. We can find Him in His Word, when we pray, through His Spirit and in the everyday. We can even find Him in the words of others who are inspired by God’s Spirit to speak truth to us. We just need to be listening. (Mark 4:9, Mark 4:23, Matthew 11:15, Matthew 13:9, Matthew 13:16)
Past
When we look back over our own personal history, if we look with faith we can see God in all of it. We can see His work through everything in our life. He is always there. He promises to always be there for us. Think back and remember Him. He works it all together.
Remember His blessings and helping hand throughout your life. It can help to write down moments and times God has helped us so we can look back when we need strength and hope. We can also comfort others because of God’s help in our life.
Think of all the ways God has moved in your life. All the things He has taught you.
All the situations and challenges He worked out for you. All the ways God has loved us, listened to us, comforted and supported us. All the ways He inspired us and helped us overcome.
Be thankful and praise Him for His wonderful work in your life. For all His blessings He has given. God has always been faithful and always will be.
Lamentations 3:22-23
The LORD’s loyal kindness never ceases;
his compassions never end.
They are fresh every morning;
your faithfulness is abundant!
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Psalms 48:14
For God, our God, is our defender forever.
He guides us.
Present
In our everyday life we can count on God. Every day He is working good for us. We can rely on Him every moment.
Start each and end day in prayer. Talk to Him about whatever is happening throughout the day. God meant for us to live one moment at a time with Him.
God wants us to talk to Him about everything in our lives. We can tell Him what is on our mind and pour our heart out to Him. He understands and wants our honesty. Whatever is going on, turn to God.
God’s plan is always for our good and His good purpose within us. We can trust Him and watch Him work things out for our good. Even if we don’t see or can’t see right away or in this lifetime we can trust His goodness and love for us.
God’s Word is full of stories of God’s goodness in how He works things out. God’s Word also includes real people talking to God about everything in their lives candidly. David often poured His heart out to God in the Psalms. His Word also records many times God reached out and met people where they were at in life no matter what. God’s Word can encourage and strengthen us.
God cares. He understands. He loves us.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
Luke 5:16
Yet Jesus himself frequently withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.
Psalm 28:1-2
By David.
To you, O LORD, I cry out!
My Protector, do not ignore me.
If you do not respond to me,
I will join those who are descending into the grave.
Hear my plea for mercy when I cry out to you for help,
when I lift my hands toward your holy temple.
Psalms 5:2-3
Pay attention to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for I am praying to you!
LORD, in the morning you will hear me;
in the morning I will present my case to you and then wait expectantly for an answer.
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
Future
God promises a future and a hope. His plans are for good and not harm. He has planned our whole lives. He has given each of us a special assignment, works He planned long ago for each of us.
He goes before us. He fights for us. He died for us. He rose in victory over our sin for us. He makes us overcomers. He knows the path ahead. He knows the hardships and the joys of your journey. He walks beside you through it all.
We can hope in Him. He will guard our hearts with His peace when we set our eyes on Him. He can be our strength in all things. He can be our comforter and motivator through all things.
He knows the road ahead and is already there. He is the way through and our best friend and partner through it all. He shows compassion and mercy to us. Rest in His grace.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the LORD. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.
Exodus 14:14
The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still.”
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Trust God with Your Life

When we give Him everything each day, our past, present and our future, and place it in His hands we find peace from Him. We find His rest for our weary souls. We find His goodness to us. (John 14:27, Matthew 11:28-30)
God will never let us down. We can call on Him 24/7. He will hear us and respond. He will work good on our behalf to bring us hope and healing. He will turn evil into something good. He will lift us up. He will fill us with Himself if we let Him. (Psalm 34:18, James 4:8, Genesis 50:20, 1 Peter 5:6-7)
